Cruz Turns 3!!

No, this is not your imagination! I am blogging! Going to try to get back in the grove with this new year. I started getting so far behind that it overwhelmed me thinking about trying to get this blog caught up! I'm probably not going to rehash the last 4 months. But I did want to do something on Cruz's party!

He just turned three on December 1. We had his party at Jump Zone with a Froggy Theme. He sleeps with a frog every night and told me thats what he wanted on his cake!;)

Doesn't he look THRILLED!!? By the time we did cake, he was pooped! Too much fun!!

This is the face he made the whole time we sang "Happy Birthday". I think he was super embarrassed!

Some random things about Cruz at this age....so I don't forget!:

He is obsessed with "booties". He talks about booties and hits his own "booty" all the time. Its called his "booty dance". Booties may be the funniest thing in the whole world to him. He also loves to moon people. Although I think he has the cutest bottom, I've got to nip that in the bud!

Along those same lines, he talks about poo-poo all the time. If you randomly say "poo-poo", you can get a laugh from him easily! If you ask him a question he doesn't want to answer, his response is always, POO-POO!!!

He LOVES to watch "tom and jerry". (He pronounces is "Tom and Jewee"). It is on ALL day. I DVR it off of the cartoon network for him...and we watch it over and over.

He loves to climb in my bed every night. Usually around 2am. I secretly love it, and NEVER make him go back to his own bed!

He still loves to golf, and recently started tennis lessons. So cute! I think he had 15 water breaks in his first lesson...which was a 30 minute lesson!

He loves healthy food, and not because I EVER pushed it on him. For example, We order pizza, he eats the salad only. He is perfectly fine with grilled chicken and broccoli for dinner!! Where did he get that!!?

He is back into choo-choos. We took a break from trains, but he has rediscovered them lately.

He is pretty talkative and I LOVE to listen to him. He usually starts his sentences with, "Hey Mom, actually I want to....." I love that he says actually!! Sounds more like "ak-choo-wee". So funny!

I LOVE YOU CRUZ!!!!

I STILL havents gotten all my Disney pics downloaded...so I'm going to do an "In Between The Disney Blogs Post". Here are some randoms:

I had my boys make this cute platter:). I love how it turned out!!

We love playdates! Especially with Anabelle!

I'm not sure what is better about Razorback Football...the game...or the TAILGATE!!!!

We were so happy one of our sitters and family friend Katie was there! She was so cute with Cruz. She played with him the whole time:). She is the sweetest!

Took the boys to the game this time! We sat in the South End Zone and I quickly realized how crappy our seats where and that we HAVE to upgrade next year. No questions!!

We visited our friends, the Hamptons, in thier box. My kids REALLY loved that!!!

Why do we buy toys?? This is Cruz's favorite thing to do....bang on pots and pans. Seriously. Drum lessons soon??:)

We are loving soccer!!!! Maddox is doing much better. He actually TRIES!! Ha!! That's him...#15!

Spent some time at the local park, favorite thing here is throwing rocks in the water!

I blinged my pumpkins this year! Would you believe I found this decal stuff at a gas station?? How cute!

So a few weeks ago I started a detox that my trainer at the gym was doing. It sounded do-able, but wow, was I wrong....I was STARVING!! So David and I decided to go eat at Ruths Chris for a big ole steak! And guess who got busted!!! That's David and I, with Bruce, our trainer. WHOOOPS!!!:)

We went to a fundraising Casino night with our friends the Lufkins. I had no idea how to play Craps, so I sat and took pics with my phone while they had fun!

Okay, and I'm really gonna try to get back into this blogging thing! Promise!

Disney World 2011 part 1

Gosh, I don't even know how to blog about this vacation! It was so long and we did so much that I just don't even know if I can put it all in here. We went for 8 days, which was nice. No rush to cram everything in!

I'll go ahead and explain why my pictures look so bad. My Nikon was giving me problems before we left. I just couldn't get a good, clear picture. Then on the second day at Animal Kingdom we were running to catch a bus. My backpack wasn't zipped, and my Nikon flew out and landed in two pieces!!!!! Now I can't get the lens to attach. It's really messed up. So most of the pics had to be taken with our phones!

Back to the trip, we left at 6 am on our flight. I had the kids dressed so cute....mickey ears, and shirts that said, "maddox/cruz first time to Disney World". Everyone was talking to them about where they were going...so cute:).

You can just see how excited Cruz was!!

Maddox and Daddy:

We stayed at Disney Yacht Club. I really loved it. We had great views of the lake and were close to everything. We took bus rides to Magic and Animal Kingdom, and ferry rides to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Here are the boys after we flew in...we checked out our room and immediately headed to Magic Kingdom!!

Let me just take a to tell you how much my boys despise taking pictures. They could be having the time of their lives, laughing, jumping, playing....but the MINUTE I pull out my camera they get super mad and won't cooperate. Makes me SOOOOO mad! So with that said, here are the first pics in the Magic Kingdom:

I love Cinderella's Castle.

Maddox's favorite ride right from the start was Splash Mountain. Cruzy was too little to ride it so we hung out and had snacks. I just thought this picture was cute:)

PLUTO!!!!! I was so glad that the boys weren't scared of the characters. It was the opposite. They wanted to love and hug on them. It was so cute!

On to Day Two:

I had fun dressing the boys for this trip! Yesterdays shirts and day 2's outfits were from Etsy. I really loved Cruz's Mickey Jon Jon: ( he does too, can't you tell??)

We went back to the Magic Kingdom Day 2. First thing we saw in Tomorrowland was the race cars. The boys went crazy wanting to ride them. We had to measure cruz to see if he was big enough. When he was he said "YESSSSS!"....I got a pic of it:):

He thought he was BIG time!!! It was the jerkiest ride of my life!!

STITCH!!!

Maddox didn't even know who Stitch was, but it became one of his favorites. I think he like him because he was so crazy and always playing tricks on people. When Maddox got his autograph, Stitch grabbed his pen and started to pick his nose with it. Maddox thought that was awesome!:)

Family Pic on the Magic Carpets. Cruz loved this style of ride. You go up, in a circle, come down. He loved it!

It was so hot the first few days. Cruz BEGGED for one of these mister/fan things. Best $13 we spent. He played with it all day!

Jungle Cruise:

Okay, so we became obsessed with ALL things pirate. My kids LOVED Pirates of the Caribbean!!! I love (i mean hate) how Disney places gift shops right outside each ride, so the kids are all pumped from the ride, then you get off and there is all this merchandise that goes along with it!! UGH. I won't tell you how much we spent on pirate stuff.:/

Disney is so magical. For real. It is. Like just when you think you've seen it all and its time to go, you round the corner and there is something else fun going on. Like this day, Cruz and I were strolling around and I heard a band, we went and found it and Cruz LOVED watching them. They were playing Disney songs from all the movies.

We headed back for a much needed rest. Cruz was passed out!!

Maddox watched the channel in our hotel that told you about all the rides and attractions at the Disney Parks:) (in his pirate stuff, of course)

Okay, that's only 2 days....well, 1 1/2 days really....see what I mean....this Disney blog may take me through the month of October!!!!!

Razorback room!

It's still a work in progress, but here's what we've got so far:

But the boys are happy!!!!!

Here is how the night goes with the bunk beds: Cruz starts on top, gets scared, moves to bottom with Maddox, Maddox gets mad, Maddox moves to top. Then we fall asleep!!

Ps, I'm not crafty but I did make these letters for the bathroom. Rash letter was $1 from joanns. Added paint and, voila!!

"Home Work"

My house is such a disaster right now! Maddox and Cruz are in the midst of getting a big boy room. I had been planning to do a cool surfer room with surfboards on the wall and Hawaiian print fabrics....but I couldn't brainwash them into agreeing with me. Soooooo, I decided to go with their choice, Razorback Football room. Not my first choice, but once I got to thinking about what I could do, I got excited! Plus, I figure they will like this room longer than they would a surfer room mom picked out!

I had been meaning to get pictures of the room before, but before I could David had already cleared out the furniture for the painters who came today. When I walked in that empty "nursery".....my FIRST baby room, I got sad. Cribs, changing table, all of it...gone. Talk about a milestone. :(

So I snapped some pics of the cleared out room.....

Okay, gotta lighten this post up!! On to the FUN NEW stuff! I used Pinterest to post all my ideas, then when David gave me the go ahead, I went back and ordered everything....

Land of Nod for bedding. I ordered the quilts and shams. Razorback colors.

I didn't want an ugly Razorback comforter, so I got them the sheets instead. They got SO excited when I brought these home (from WalMart!!)

Here is the bunk beds we ordered. I think the website was called some thing like bunkbeds.com. Super original! I got stairs instead of a ladder...just thought that was cool...plus extra storage!

Look at this fun light! Ordered this from Sweet Retreats Kids. Online. I had to get rid of our ceiling fan because Cruz wants to sleep on the top bunk, mainly because he said he wanted to touch the fan. YIKES! Bu-bye fan!

I also ordered this from Sweet Retreats Kids. It will be personalized with our last name and the number 2. I picked 2 because two kids share the room....:)

Just got this today and I'm in love...and I think the hubby loves it even MORE. This is really big and will hang above the dresser. I bought it from some football fan site...can't remember the name!

I'm having the walls and trim painted this week....in two weeks I have a girl coming to paint the fight song around the top border of the walls. I will post pics when all is said and done! Yay! I still need to order some bean bags for a reading corner and I would LOVE to find some red lockers for a little wall in the room. Oh, and my mom is sewing a shower curtain too...Giant red and White stripes:)!

I also got into Fall decorating....finally....here is the door...same as last year:)

I put these cute candy corns in all my pots. Found them at Joanns!

It's Thursday! Time for Randoms;)

I know I've said this before, but I've become such a bad blogger/picture taker. I rely on my iPhone for pics and RARELY us my good one! I'm so going to regret that!! So most of these are from the phone, but hey, at least I'm blogging!!

The cooler weather is feeling great! Loving the crisp Fall air, but it is a little bittersweet to say goodbye to summer! BUT, I just ordered my new Fall bag which makes me happy, and I can't WAIT to pull out my boots (and add a few to the collection!!).

Moving on:)....back to the pics....I take the boys to ChickFilA often, just like most parents with kids. I love that if they take their kids meal toy to the counter they get a free ice cream. I always make the boys go by themselves to do it. It is so funny to watch!

Remember the adorable shirts I got from Hugs N Stitches ( look her up on Facebook). Here are the boys wearing them at the mall the other day:).

BTW, that day at the mall I had a TOTAL momma bear moment. I had taken the kids in a shoe store planning to get both kids a new pair. It was completely empty and there was a section of toys for kids to play with. My kids went over to play while I shopped. There was a huge bin of balls next to the toy section and my kids started digging through them. I swear they were NOT doing anything wrong, just looking. This disgusting worker came and got on to them and said leave the balls alone. I turned and looked at him with a death glare. Then turned back around. He AGAIN said to leave the balls alone....mind you they placed them in the kids area!! I put back the things I had planned to buy, jerked up my poor kids, and LEFT!!!

Sorry, got off track....ha!.... here are the shirts!

Two of my favorite girls to hang with are Ashley and Amanda. I swear I laugh NON STOP with them!!! We went out to eat the other night and this is the only silly picture I got. I won't waste your time and tell you why it was so funny, cause it won't make an sense:)

The LPGA is an annual event at Pinnacle Country Club. David goes every year, but I've never been. I got four tickets given to me, so we decided to take the boys. Cell phones weren't allowed, of course I brought mine anyways, so we took a quick pic when no one was looking. We were following Michelle Wie and Stacy Lewis in this pic:)

Here is me, Kim, Melisa, and Kelly....We spent last Saturday night up at the club listening to a band of guys that live here in the hood. Such a fun night!

Tuesday Melisa and I tried to take the kids to Jump Zone....it was rainy and we wanted to wear them out! I was so mad when we got there and it was CLOSED!!!!! So we quickly had to get a new plan...We went to Imagine Studios to paint pottery instead. The kids loved and and I even had them make a cute Halloween Platter with the kids feet as ghosts. Unfortunately, Jump Zone would have cost $16. Painting Pottery was about $90!!!! Whoa!!

Oh yes we did, Cruz and I dug a hole in the backyard yesterday and set up his own putting area! Now we are going to have to have the lawn guy mow extra short and he will be in HEAVEN!!

Thursday Randoms

• Maddox is back in soccer! This year his team in orange bulldogs;)!! We practice once a week and have games twice a week!! This might wear me out! Ha!!

• here's a random, I wish I had video of Maddox pretending to sleep. He doesn't know how to snore, so he says "hong-shooooo, hong-shoooo". It's so funny!

• I got a pic of Cruz on the washer while I washed his botsy. He has to keep an eye on it;)

• Cruz is such a little toot. He knows how to get what he wants. His new thing is when he doesn't want to do something he says he can't walk. I'll tell him to pick up toys and he's stands there kicking his feet up and down like he's trying to walk, but he just CAN'T do it!!! It's so funny!

• finally added our new beach pics to our photo wall. I'm rewally happy how it turned out!

• cruz's obsession is golf. I'm not exaggerating when I say he plays non-stop when we are at the house. He loves it!

End of Summa-time:(

I have to say, I don't get all these people who are SO glad summer is over!?! Really??? Summer is THE best!!! I have soaked up every second. I do love fall, but then comes winter...... Yuck!!

Moving on, I finally downloaded some pictures from my camera. So here goes a kinda quick summery of the last few weeks.

Spent lots of time on Beaver Lake! We will be going out until it is just down right too cold!! My friend melisa had a bday recently and we headed out to celebrate!!

These girls are the cutest and SO good with my boys!)

We took the kids to a Naturals game last week. It was family night at the park. There were inflatables, games, and FREE food;);)!!

How cute is Cruz??!!?

After the game they let all the kids on the field to run the bases. So fun. I had a great time with my little family;)!

Maddox started preschool;'(!! Time is going so fast!! Here he is on his first day, and I have to agree with my sister.... He looks more like a second grader than a preschooler!!!!

Friday we had a double date night with the Wares. We did a progressive dinner, hitting a new place for appetizers, main course, and then dessert. So fun!!

Me Lately, via iPhone

After getting back from Cape Cod I needed to spend quality time with my kiddos. We spent one morning at the park together. I sure had missed them!!

Maddox insisted on swinging in the baby swings......bad idea, he got stuck. In case you can't tell.... He is a huge 4 year old;)!! It was about 100 degrees, trying to get him out about killed me!!!!

Lots of nights after dinner we walk down to the pond and hang;).

Okay, so pinterest is totally making me a better mom! I'm cooking more homemade meals, crafts with kids, doing everything better!! Ha!! The other day it was raining, so I searched for something to do with the kids. I made "sensory boxes". Pasta, rice, dry oatmeal. I wasn't sure what they would do, but it was very entertaining to them!! They put little men in it and cars....fun;).

Again, spoiling the babies after my trip away....build a bear!!

Speaking of razorbacks, a lady I grew up with started a cute embroidery business. Look up "hugs n stitches" on facebook. So cute. I won a gift card and picked these adorable hog shirts. The black is chalk cloth, so you can personalize it for each game, like "beat LSU" or "homecoming". How cute!!!!

Cruz got a new look today. Think Justin Beiber. Haha!! It needs to grow and fill in, but it's pretty darn cute!!

Swim Lessons

Maddox was in his second year of swim lessons this year. He takes private lessons with Miss Courtney and her sister Emily. They teach all day in their parents backyard. They are so great with the boys. Cruz took for the first time this year. Maddox really advanced this year: jumping in deep end, swimming freestyle, learning to breathe.... I was impressed.

Cruz on the other hand was a little toot!! He wasn't very good at listening to his teacher and would yell "NO!!!!" when he didn't want to do something. EMBARRASSING!!! She was so patient. I had to start leaving during the lessons because it stressed me out so bad to watch him act like that!!! :/. Well, one day I came back and they figured out a way to get him to swim, they put their dog Roxie in the water and had Cruz race her. So funny!! Whatever works.....;)

Girls Weekend in Cape Cod

I've made some great friends from playing tennis. One of my tennis/neighborhood friends Melisa is from Boston. She went back for a long visit this summer and invited a few of us girls to come stay while she was there. Her MIL has the cutest cottage in the Cape! So much fun. Here is a post of iPhone pics, I'll download the rest later!

First of all, I was so happy to leave this hot sticky weather behind!!!!

My friend Kiki and I flew out together. Our other friends, Kelly and Kim, flew out the day before. I can't even begin to tell you hoe crazy our flights were!!! Delayed once, almost missed a flight, we even got paged! It was hysterical! Then once in Boston we had to wait 30 minutes on our luggage that had gotten on a different flight. Needless to say, it was time for a glass of wine!

Melisa had a lobster dinner waiting on us! My first try, and I didn't love it! But I did really love swordfish!

Next morning we slept in and then hit the beach. Relaxing.

Out to dinner that night. We went to Melisas fave sushi place, here we are with Taka, I think he kinda loves melisa!

Then we went to The Wave, a hole in the wall dive bar, fun!

Next morning was RAIN:(. We had plans to go out on the boat, but had to cancel. Instead we ate and had drinks all day;)

First stop, local country club;)

Look how pretty it was!!

Then we drove to the Chart Room for the best mudslides ever!

That night we went back home and sat on the screened porch and chatted till super late. Kiki and I left the next morning. Sad to go, but happy to be home too!

Orange Beach 2011

Well, summer has really gotten the best of my blogging habits! I'm just to busy, hot, and exhausted to even take the time to load photos! It's terrible because we are having a great summer and doing fun stuff, I'm gonna get back on it....

So a few weeks ago we went on our annual trip to the Alabama coast. My dad takes my family and my sister Kim's family every year. Might just be the BEST tradition ever!!

The boys were at a great age this year...they had a lot of fun, because they loved the beach....but I think MOST of all, they loved being with their extended family 24/7!! Talk about getting spoiled!! Ha!

It's always a long drive down. Is it in a kids DNA to ask "are we there yet" every hour? I mean really, where do they learn this cause ALL kids seem to do it! But we finally made it and the kids all changed and went STRAIGHT to the beach!

And then the pool....

And Maddox couldn't resist the slide!!

My niece, Sloan, was so great with the kids. She is almost 12 and was such a little helper with them. They adore her!!:)

All of the cousins being silly! Look how skinny my Cruzy is! Boy, I've got one with a big ole belly, and one that you can see his rib cage!

It's not a beach trip without a little crabbing!! Too bad we didn't see one single crab:(.

We went to Lulu's one night, and that is something we do every year. Great food and even better atmosphere!

Cruz and Maddox were both wanting boogie boards to ride the waves. Maddox really used his, Cruz treated his like a new pet on a leash.

Thursday night we did a fantastic sunset dolphin cruise. If your in the area, try Cold Mil Creek. They had the dolphins jumping out of the water everywhere!

Remember me saying my kids got spoiled...well here is some proof. My dad who HATES sand, is sitting in the sand feeding Cruz by hand (Cruz is 2 1/1 and knows full well how to feed himself, but he didn't want sand on his food, so he told Grandad to feed him!)

The last night we went to The Hangout....it was great! Not because of the food or service, those things were both awful, terrible, and disappointing. BUT THE ATMOSHPERE!!! Soooooo fun!!!! Made up for the dining experience!:)

Oh, and the most impressive face painting I've ever seen. Are you at all surprised at what Maddox picked???:)

PS. I posted about Cruz getting his tubes and he is doing great. It was a rocky start, but he is fine now. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers for my lil guy!

Why I Love Cruz;)

He always does his "pretty smile" on call:

He plays with this red pan all the time. It's amazing what he has found to do with it....from mud pies, to golfing.....

He's so cute at bath time. I love clean babies!!

Pretty much anything he does melts my heart.....

He's so cute that I almost can't discipline him.... Almost!! This morning he threw his cereal bar.... Mad because it broke. Then he wouldn't pick it up, so I sent him to the corner. I told him he could come out when he was ready to clean his mess. He cried to hard!!! He stayed at least 15 minutes, then he came to his senses and decided to clean it up..., of course I had to snap a pic of him in the corner....isn't he pitiful???;)

Cruz also has the craziest things happen. 2 nights ago he was eating pasta salad. All of the sudden he started screaming and crying that his nose hurt. We thought pepper was burning him. He finally got over it, but yesterday he was super fussy. Then last night David was changing his diaper and noticed something orange in his nose...... He got some tweezers and.......

Pulled out this carrot!!!!!!!!!! It had Been up his nose for at least 24 hrs!!!!!!!! Wowzers!!!!!

Never a dull moment.....

But with all that said, I want to ask that you keep my lil Cruz in your prayers. He is getting tubes in his ears tmrw. I know it's fairly routine, but anytime they put your baby under, it's scary:(. So Thank you so much for your prayers!

Random Stuff;)

• Maddox went to his first day of vacation bible school today. I was SO excited to hear all about it, but he was tight lipped. He told me all they did was sit in a chair and wait on Mommys to come pick them up! Haha!!! Liar!!

• I got a Keratin blowout today. It's like the brazillian blowout, but less harmful chemicals. I can't wash hair, sweat, wear ponytail, clip, headband, sunglasses on head, or hair tucked behind my ears for 72 hrs!!! But after that I get to wash and enjoy stick straight hair!!! No more summer frizz!!!

• if you follow Ashleys Avenue or Becoming a Ware, you may have seen my trip to Dallas to see New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys!!!!! It was so awesome!!! Best girls trip!!!!

4 Nights Celebrating the 4th!!!

Get ready for some PICTURES!!!!!!!!! whew!!!!! Our fourth was jam packed!!!! We started Friday night at a Couples Cupcake War party at my friend Melisa's house. Such a fun party!!! I laughed A LOT!!! We were judged on taste and presentation. (my team won Presentation!!)

Here are all the girls! We all live in the same 'hood!!

We each were paired with another couple and had a table set up with the ingredients we needed;).

Visiting Nana in Hot Springs!!

Last weekend we drove down to Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs to visit Davids mom. She moved into a great condo right on the water. There was so much to do, I don't think the kids cried once!!!

As soon as we got there the kids ran to a little table she had set up for them with snacks and toys;)

They smoked ribs for dinner....cruzs fave!!!!

Maddoxs super hero party!!

Maddox had three requests for this years party: bounce house, slide, and super heroes!! I have to say this was my favorite party EVER!! The kids seemed to love the party and got into the theme!! Everyone came in a super hero shirt. My first thought was to have the kids in super hero costumes, but it is so HOT here in Arkansas! They would have melted!

So let's get with the pics!! The night before the party I wrote "happy birthday super Maddox". The party was outside, so everyone entered through the driveway. The inflatable slide was set up on the back of the driveway.

I rented these adorable tables;)

I made the centerpieces;)

Those are super hero pops. Found them on etsy. I paid like $5 and they sent me the file to print, cut, and make it myself!

My mom made all of the capes for the kids! Thanks mom!! I bought matching masks to go with each cape. These were also party favors!

I had Maddoxs shirt made from an easy site as well. The "4" is spider man material;)!

Another Etsy do it yourself project: bottle covers. I had these personalized then printed on label paper, cut, and attached myself!

THE CAKE!!! Oh, could there BE a cooler super hero cake????? I got this from Shelby Lynns Cake Shoppe. They do a great job and it tastes as good as it looks!!

Happy 4th Birthday, Maddox!!!!

I can't believe I am the mom of a FOUR year old! I know that may sound crazy to those of you with older kids, but FOUR?!?!? It just seems "old"....we are getting close to Kindergarten age! Can we rewind please!!? I don't want my babies to grow up! I tell them that all the time! I want to freeze them and keep them with me forever! Ha!

Here's a look back at Maddox on his birthday over the last 4 years:

Memorial day!!

We spent time at the lake, pool, and with friends the entire weekend! It was so busy, but totally in a good way! I have to admit, I finally crashed last night by 9 o'clock! Seems like we started celebrating Memorial Day on Thursday night!:/

I took most of my pics yesterday when we hit the lake with the Wares! You will notice the wTer is ssssuuupppeeeerrrr brown! We have had lots of flooding and it has churned up the lake water big time. Boo!! Didn't spoil ou van though!

After The Storms

Wow! Arkansas, Oklahoma, and especially Missouri have had enough bad weather to last a lifetime. Tornado after tornado .....so sad.

I think we are finally in the clear after 3 days of terrible storms.

Now it's time for many people to rebuild. Many from the ground up. If there is any good in all of this, it has to be the way strangers have come together to help strangers. Neighbors running to help neighbors.

Joplin is 45 minutes from where we live and many friends of mine have family that was affected by Sunday's tornado. These people were left with nothing. Anything you can do to help is greatly needed. Especially prayers.

We spent two nights this week hanging out in our closet under the stairs, looking at radar that showed tornados headed straight for our area.

But we were lucky and never got the worst of it. After being indoors so much, today it was time to PLAY.

And thank GOD for what we have!

Please keep the tornado victims in your prayers...

Little Rock

We finally found some time last week to go down to Little Rock and visit my sister and her family. It was a quick packed trip, but so worth it. I don't think Maddox or Cruz cried one time! They were so happy to be there!
Here we are loaded up and ready to go;)! The kids brought every blanket and animal they could carry!

The next day we took the kids to the purple cow, and they got yummy purple milkshakes;)!

After that we went to The Wonderplace. It was a blast and wore the kids out!!

Mothers Day Weekend;)

Can I be cheesy for just a minute?? Great! Because I had the best mothers day weekend ever! Get ready for some sweet pics!

After 2 weeks of rain, we finally have sunshine again!! Friday night after dinner we sat on the back deck and just enjoyed the warmth!!

Played with Nash. He is so funny with this big ball. Our neighbors call him a circus dog. He is entertaining to say the least!

That afternoon we played couples golf with our friends the Ducas. I hadn't played in over two years! Thankfully it was a scramble!!

Today we got up and headed to Tulsa. The plan was to go to the Oklahoma aquarium and then let me do some shopping!

I have NEVER in my life seen my kids so excited as they were at the aquarium! They were squeeling, jumping, running, and so into the whole experience! If you live close enough, this place is a must!!

And last, I finally got my Keurig!!!!!!! I can't wait till morning!;)

Ready for 3 random things thrown into one big random post? Great!

Last Saturday my Dad took us all out to eat. Cruz had such a big day EAster Egg Hunting and playing with his cousins that he PASSED out on the way to eat....and never woke up! I enjoyed two things about that: 1) I got to eat a relaxing dinner 2) I got to hold this "sweepy" baby the whole time:

And in case you are living under a rock and haven't yet heard, we are having terrible, scary weather here in Arkansas!! It has rained for 6 days straight! I took this photo of a street flooding nearby my house:Friday night we had dinner with friends and ended up in the basement of the club taking cover from a tornado headed straight for our neighborhood. Luckily, we are all okay!

I was freaking....my friend Amanda was entertaining the kids. You wouldn't believe the fun stuff she pulled out of her purse. All the kids ended up crowding around her!!:)I just talked to my sister who lives in central Arkansas....she told me that there are weather chasers staying in all of the local hotels, getting ready for what is suppose to happen tonight. Apparently, this map below is something you rarely see....that section in white, where I know TONS of people and grew up, is suppose to have the worst tornadoes. There hasn't been a warning like this in over a year!! Pray for Arkansas!

And lastly, on a much lighter note, is pillow talk with Cruz:). I love rocking him before naps and bedtime and getting him to sing and talk to me. I had my phone with me today because I had just got off the phone with my sister Kim. Here you can here him sing the ABC's (kinda....he acts really silly), talk about dumping out his jelly beans, and then who he just talked to on the phone....which was my sister, but he calls her Mrs. Peace. I've never heard him call her this before. He calls his uncle Mark "Peace"....and so I guess it makes since that Kim is Mrs. Peace! Hahaha!!

Happy Easter "Peeps"!!! Hope your having a great day....it has been a soggy tornado, windy filled weekend here in Arkansas!!!! But I just had to quickly post some CA-YUTE pics of my sweet lil kiddos!!

Here they are before leaving for school last Wednesday. I had these shirts made off Etsy. We wore them twice this week!! I just loved them!

Cruz just can't get his "picture face" right!! Hahaha!!!

Friday was one of the MOST fun nights I've had in a long time! We went to dinner with the Linams and the Ware's. It took FOUR hours....we had the worst weather...even got evacuated to the basement at one point due to a tornado close by, but I've seriously not laughed that much in a while! Pics to follow later!!!

Saturday afternoon Maddox's Nanna came for a visit and brought the kids tons of Easter prizes! They were so excited. Then later that afternoon my sister and her family cam into town and went to our neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt with us. It is usually outside, but since it is FLOODING here....they moved it indoors at the clubhouse.

Maddox and the "Easter Bunny". I put this in quotations because Maddox noticed he could see a mans neck under the costume...And, the Easter Bunny had on tennis shoes!! Maddox quietly told us "there is a man PRETENDING to be the Easter bunny in that suit!!!!" Hahahaha!!!!

One of my favorite friends, Kristin, came for a visit last weekend. We danced like crazy girls to a local 80's cover band!!

Curious why I no longer blog from my iPad???:

Um, ya.....should have invested in the $70 otter box:(. This is what happens when you let your 3 year old have free reign with an $800 electronic;(. Lesson learned!

My mom and I took the boys to see the Easter bunny!!

Maddoxs shirt says "I hunt eggs". Cruz's says "got eggs". Found on etsy!

Then we let the kids play at the mall playground till Cruz about fell asleep!

We had our first visit to the dentist today. Boy are dental visits way different than from when I was a kid!!!!

First, you earn points with each visit, eventually you get to pick prizes from a big toy cabinet!

Then, you go to the brushing room. Pick a new tooth brush and get your teeth all clean!

After you brush, you get to go to the awesome playroom!!!

Then off to get teeth cleaned!!! Cruz's pretty smile!!

No tears!!!! I'm sure the marshmallow flavored toothpaste helped!;)

I was really worried about cruz's teeth. They have some yellow spots that concerned me. The dr said it was weak enamel, so we had to get some special toothpaste for him.

I wasn't worried about Maddox at all. And HE was the one who got the worst news!! Two cavities!! I feel like the worst mommy! The dr said he has deep grooves in his teeth, so bacteria gets down on there(I've been told the same thing....guess it was inhereted!!)

Next, they took X-rays and showed me where his permanent teeth were up in his mouth. They are already crooked!!!! He told me to start saving for braces!!!!:/

I'm not real surprised about the braces, David and I both had them! But I couldn't believe we could already tell that! Crazy...

The other night I hosted a Left, Right, Center party for all my girlfriends....I didn't take ANY Pics....so go look at my friend ASHLEY'S page for more info! But here are some great recipes I tried out....the Candy Shop Pizza was sinfully awesome! It's so easy to make! You've got to try it!!!!!

RASPBERRY BEER

3 1/2 (12-oz.) bottles beer, chilled 1 (12-oz.) container frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate, thawed 1/2 cup vodka Preparation 1. Using the back of a spoon, mash raspberries in a bowl; transfer to a pitcher. Stir in remaining ingredients. Serve over ice. *3/4 cup thawed frozen raspberries may be substituted.

CANDY SHOP PIZZA

1 (18-ounce) package NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough 1 cup NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels 1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter 1 cup coarsely chopped assorted candy* Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease baking sheet or pizza pan. Place whole bar of dough scored side down onto prepared baking sheet or pizza pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately sprinkle morsels over hot crust; drop peanut butter by spoonfuls onto morsels. Let stand for 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny. Gently spread chocolate and peanut butter evenly over cookie crust. Sprinkle candy in single layer over pizza. Cut into wedges; serve warm or at room temperature.

I topped it with chopped up...M&M's, Butterfinger, Nestle Crunch, and Twix. I froze them first so they would chop easy! SOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!!

Makes 12 servings.

Friday night was pretty perfect....we were planning to go out, but decided to stay home and grill at the last moment. It was so warm so I let the boys strip down and play in water. We filled up the water table and then the boys and I decided to play a trick on dad;)! The water table has several spouts that you can spray water out of. We decided to tell Daddy there was a surprise for him and he would have to get down close to see it..

Saturday was soccer again for Maddox! I couldn't wait to see him since I missed last week!! Here's Maddox and his buddy nikko:

Sporty Weekend!!

Last weekend our tennis team went to Little Rock for mid-season. It was my first time, I'm a beginner 2.0....still learning;)!

We had such a good time and I did not take enough pics!!! We ate out at fun restaurants and shopped in between our tennis matches. So fun!

Saturday morning my sis and margaux came out to watch. I had already finished my match(lost that first one). Kinda glad they missed that one!!

That afternoon we came back out... Changed outfits.... I was feeling superstitious;)! I guess it worked cause Aimee and I won that doubles match. Yay!!;)

And the fam got to see that one;);)!

Great weekend!! Only bad part was that I missed maddoxs first soccer practice. I stole the following pics from my dad:

Apparently Maddox did not want to play at first!! He said his shin guards hurt;).

But he warmed up to the idea;)!

He's getting so big!!!;)

He plays again this Saturday!! Can't wait to see him in person!!;)

Yesterday after mothers day out, I took the boys to a new park in our area. We usually go straight home for naps but it was so warm...

Allergy Testing:(

I think I've already mentioned on here how sick my little Cruz has been. It's been really pitiful. He is on his third ear infection this year, and we just had them rechecked after 10 days of antibiotics he STILL had one in both ears:(. Poor punkin, he still manages to smile!

Even when doing his breathing treatments:(

So to try to get some more answers, we decided to get him allergy tested to find out if there was anything else we could be doing or treating to get him better! AAANNNDDD, since Maddox has had a reaction to cashews that ended in an ER visit, we decided to get him tested as well!

So, today, I took my 3 and 2 year old boys to the doctor for a nearly 2 1/2 hour appointment:(! Can you imagine??

They behaved really well considering the situation. The worst of course was when they got pricked all over their backs with little plastic sticks. Tears, screams, horrible drama. This is the only pic I got and I took it after we got home:

Each little dash mark is a spot where Cruz got stuck. It was so sad!!!!

So what did we find out?

CRUZ: no reactions except to grass! They feel he was too little for the test to read accurate....so we have to do it all over again in 2 years! They did put him on Flonaze, so we'll see if this helps!

MADDOX: strongly allergic to cashews and pistachios. He now has to have an epipen around and at school when he starts!:(. He has to have more bloodwork as well. Just to see how severe it is and if there are anymore allergies to foods.

All in all, not a fun day! However, I must say I have the sweetest friends who have called/texted to check on my boys!! I sure do appreciate that! Love my friends! They have been so great to help out while we've been tied down with a sick punkin!!

Dancing With the Stars of NWA

This past Saturday we went to a benefit raising money for building a childrens museum in our area of the state. They had local celebrites dancing. It was lots of fun! Mostly because we got to hang out with some super fun friends!

We had hotel rooms at aLoft, so all the girls got ready together!!

Then we headed over to the Hammons center for the event. Below is Jessie, holly, Amanda, and me!

Surprise!!!!

Last Friday I was on the phone with my Bestie amber and we were going over our weekend plans like we always do. David was leaving for Las Vegas for a 4 day work trip. The boys and I had nothing really going on. My only excitement in the entire 4days was going to be Saturday night. I had a babysitter coming to watch the boys for a few hours so I could go to dinner with my friend Michelle, whose hubby's was also out of town.

Well, turns out Amber didn't have much going on either. And at 10:30 Friday night she started packing her bags to make a trip to come to Arkansas for a quick 25 hour visit!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!

She got here at 1 pm Saturday. We got to spend the afternoon sitting on the couch and hanging out. It was SO nice! And since I already had a sitter, we headed out to dinner at Crabby's! Ashley and her SIL Julie met us there as well. It was a great little impromptu girls reunion!

I swear, I'm lucky to have a friend like her!!!!! Love you amber!!!!!!!!!

Sunday we woke up and laid around for a while. My kids were happy to see her! Then we hit the gym and worked out together and had lunch at the club.....just like old times!! I miss her!! (amber lived a block away from me and we spent almost every day together!)

Cozy as a Mouse

Maddox and Cruz love this book:

They also like to get "cozy". We use that word a lot. They like to get wrapped up in blankets with a cup a blankey.

So on night a long time ago when we were reading the above book and came to this page:

Both boys asked me if I could get them that cozy when they got in bed that night. I said "as cozy as a mouse?". And they said "yes!"

So now it's a common phrase around here. When they go to bed they say "cozy as a mouse". When they watch a movie they say "cozy as a mouse". Always meaning they want to be all wrapped up in blankets!;)

Here Lately

I've got to admit, I've gotten so busy I just don't have time to sit and blog. I'm sitting outside while Maddox plays and Cruz naps. In between cheering for Maddox making basketball goals I'm going to try and type a sentence! I hope this flows somewhat;)!

Want to know who is attached to my side lately???? CRUZ!

Even when I go to put my make up on he follows me. He sits in the sink and talks to me asking what each little thing in my bag is. He seriously knows what blush is and mascara and where it goes. Scary.

Speaking of my lil punkin, he has been very sick this year. We are on our third double ear infection. I'm pretty sure we will be getting tubes soon. His latest sickness started Thursday night with a temp of 102.9. He's had a consistent 101 ever since. Then he started this nasty cough and wheezing. With his prior lung problems, I really got scared. Sunday night he woke up at 3am and I put him in bed with us. He was sleeping, but not breathing like a sleeping baby. It was fast and labored. I never went back to sleep. I was counting his breathes per minute, so scared he was having an asthma attack in his sleep or something.

It's so scary to have a little one have such problems like this, who can't tell you when they are having breathing problems. can you imagine trying to suck in air and feel like you can't get any? And your to little to grab your own inhaler. It makes me sad.

When I called my dr the next morning they had no appointments, but they told me to bring him in anyways and they would see him. They got me right in and I so appreciated it! Cruz is now on antibiotics, albuteral every 4 hours, and flovent twice a day. Also our daily Singulair and Mucinex!! Whew!

And here's a little funny... Maddox always falls for reverse psychology! I told him a long time ago to NEVER eat brocolli because it would make him grow up, and I wanted him to stay a baby! Well, he loves broccoli now!! Seriously!! He thinks he's doing something he's not suppose to;)!

What my Boys Did While I was in Puerto Rico

We are lucky to have my parents living so close by. And they are always able to help out. They kept the kids the whole time we were gone and dad sent me pictures almost everyday so I could see what they were doing;)!

I sent presents for them to open on valentines day..... However, mom and dad let them open them early!!!!!

Puerto Rico!!!!!

So I've been MIA! In puerto Rico! We just got back yesterday!! Had an absolute blast;)! We went with davids work p, which we do once a year. It is always so much fun. They are like family to us. I look forward to seeing everyone each trip! Get ready for picture overload....

The first day we were there we took a catamaran out to a deserted island for do e sunbathing and snorkeling. It was a day long excursion...so much fun. They served us tons of food and drinks too!!

Time to snorkel. Look at the beautiful water!!! We fed the fish bread left over from lunch. You can see the fish swimming around below:

I actually snorkeled too, which I HATE!! I am a great swimmer, but you but that snorkel on me and show me a fish and I start to hyperventilate!!!!!!! But it was so pretty, I felt like I was missing out... I had to try.

That night we went to dinner with Ian and Tera at a local place called Lupi's.

Next morning it was a beach day. This was our view from the room:

No pics that day. But that night we went to another local place. Here is our face crew to hang with; the mcdonalds, the betts, the turners, and us. We always have a good time together. And laugh a LoT!!!!!

We ordered another 60 oz margarita at this place. I guess Puerto Rico loves these things. But look how they served it.....in a rinsed out milk container....ewwww!!!

After dinner we went back to the hotel. The guys played Texas hold em and the girls played "left, right, center" which I've never played... But it is a new fave!!!!

Next day was valentines day. Tera and I decided to drag the hubby's into old San Juan to take us shopping!! Look how pretty the buildings were:

And I even had flowers delivered to me, I got a good hubs;)!!

That night we had a dinner banquet.

All the guys on the trip. They wore shirts in honor of chet, who is In the middle, and battling lung cancer. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet!!!

Most everyone left that next day. We extend our trip one more night. We enjoyed a late breakfast and then chilled o. The beach and then by the pool.

That night we ate at a place called La Perla. It was super fancy shmancy. It was shaped like a giant clam shell. I felt like I was in the little mermaid!!

Next morning it was time to fly home!! Mom and dad kept the kids for us. I had to hurry home and get them before they were spoiled any more!!;);). (more to come on that). Till next time....

A Whole Lotta Random

Hey blogger friends!! I tell ya, blogs and facebook are really keeping me entertained while we are snowed in!! I keep checking for new blogs to read!! It is currently 0 degrees here in NWArkansas. Hopefully it will warm up a bit and we can get out and play later.

In the mean time I'm posting some random things I've been meaning to get on here!!

Here's a cute video of cruz.... I don't think I've posted it before. Cruz always tells us when he is happy. It is so sweet. He used to simply say, "happy". He would say it out of nowhere and it would make me realize he was enjoying whatever we were doing.

Then he started saying, "Cruz happy". He is always saying this at dinnertime. He loves when we all sit down to eat together.

Now it's almost like a roll call of who is happy. He says all of our names, including Nash the dog, and says "happy".

I got video of it the other night. I love him.

A few weeks ago we had my friend Amanda and her kids over for a playdate. Maddox loves her little boy, Harry!! They stayed in the game room the whole time! So I only got a picture of Cruz and Georgia Kelly. How cute are these two??

Cruz went for his two year check up last week. Poor guy had a double ear infection, again! I have a feeling tubes may be in our future:(. He was also sounding really wheezy. Since he doesnt do very good with his inhaler (he fights and screams and I feel like I'm smothering him....it's aweful), they put him back on albuteral with a nebulizer:(. My baby and his lungs:(. If you haven't read my blog very long you may not know, but Cruz has had lung issues since birth. He sees a pulmonologist every 6 months.

Soooo, Cruz is getting extra special treatment. Like popsicles at 7am for taking his medicine and breathing treatments;)!!

Last Friday we had warm beautiful weather!!! Ashley came over and we let the kids run wild, inside and out!! Ashley and I got to catch up and enjoy a sonic drink!!

Can believe this was a week ago!? So warm!!! Now we are deep in snow!!!!

Speaking of Ashley, we are currently partners in a Biggest Loser competition. Our hubbies are doing it too. We both lost the first week... Me 4lbs, Ashley 4.5 lbs!!! We went out to eat to celebrate!

And on a complete change of subject, my aunt Mary Ann, who is my dads older sister, suffered a massive stroke a few days ago. Thanks to the power of prayer she is improving daily, but please add her to your prayer list too. Thanks so much!;)

I love all the snow words people are coming up with to describe the crazy weather the US is going through right now!! I hate being snowed in, but it is nice to be forced to relax and catch up around the house. I've had fun looking on facebook and blogs seeing everyones experiences with snowmagedon!!

Here in northwest Arkansas we got some sleet with about 8 inches of snow on top. It's beautiful!! Look at the snow in the window of my bathroom last night:

The boys will probably get out in it today. Yesterday it was just too cold and windy.

It's even deeper now!!

So I, like everyone else, made a trip to walmart the day before the storm hit. It was total and complete chaos!! No eggs, no bread, people were everywhere!!!! I bought what I could, and picked up some extra stuff to entertain the boys; new leapster games and art supplies. Not a bad idea I must say!!

Online Obsessions

Okay, so I've never been a HUGE online shopper. I used to do it here and there, when I couldn't find something in a "real" store. However, now that I have an iPad, online shopping has become somewhat of an addiction. The iPad has opened doors that I didn't know exsisted. (Don't tell David, he might return the iPad).

This might sound crazy, but I debated even sharing my new found little secrets. I'm scared if I share that then I might start missing out on the great deals because everybody else will shop these sights. How crazy am I??

Some of these I'm SURE you've heard of, some of them may be new, but here are my new obsessions.

1. Rue La La (I use the iPad app for this, easier to shop than the website).

This site gets me into trouble. The brands you LOVE, prices you can't believe!!! You have to be invited to join. If you are interested, send me and email and I will try to hook you up! They will email you almost daily of what sales are going on. You have about two days to shop, but the good stuff goes FAST. Everything from shoes, watches, sunglasses, clothes, jewelry, furniture, vacations, its all good!!!!

2. GILT for iPad

Oh this one gets me everytime. Just like Rue La La, the sales are quick and the goods go fast. If you are a shopper that gets stressed out easy like me....then just imagine when you pick up your iPad, swipe the bar to turn it on, and the first message you see is "the sale has started". AHHHH, I"M MISSING OUT!!!!!! I hurry and log in!!!! (okay, i'm crazy). So then you start to go through the new items, and this app tells you what goods are already in members carts, so if you want it you better act fast. These marketing people are GENIUS! But seriously, the deals are amazing...

3. So one my friend Sara Lauren recently turned me on to is 6PM....wonderful!!!! Just about any name brand you can imagine...all on sale. Deals, deals, deals. Here's the trick to this one. If you like the price you see...buy it. If you wait and go back later...they will jack the price up on you. Sara Lauren told me this, and she was right. I found an adorable pair of Diba sandles for $16 and didn't buy them.....went back...they were $29!! UGH.

4. You've probably heard of ModCloth, but I've only recently began purchasing from here. I have found that the items are GREAT quality! We are about to go on a trip to Puerto Rico and I have been looking for some fun dressesI just bought this and LOVE!

5. Lulu's: You've probably hit this one up or heard of it...but its a great, cheap shopping site. I've ordered some dresses from here and they are cute, but not the best quality....kind of like Forever 21 stuff. But you still can't beat a cute, $38 dress!

6. Asos: LOVE. Check this one out, they are always adding new stuff, so it never gets boring! I haven't yet placed an order from here, but I love to stalk it!!!

THE LITTLE GYM!!

We have been going to the Little Gym for a full "semester" now. Last week was what they call "Show Week" where parents can bring family and the kids get to show off all the skills they have learned. They also get medals and have a little ceremony for them. It was just adorable!!

We brought my parents to watch. I'm pretty sure they loved every second of it. I know Cruz loved showing off!!! Here he is doing his wheelbarrow crawl: I always get LOTS of hugs at Little Gym. Cruz's class is a Mommy & Me class, I just love the time we get to spend together. In between every activity he will run and give me GIANT hugs, literally almost knocking me over!!!

So cute.

Balance Beam:

Funny story, each week they dump a big bucket of balls out. They are all different colors, and there is ONE black ball. Cruz gets the black ball EVERY week. I mean every. week. It's the only ball he will play with. It is so funny to me. One week another kid got it and Cruz did not know what to do. He came and sat in my lap and just pouted. He is so funny!!

I love him.

MEDAL TIME!! All the parents clapped and cheered when the kids got up to receive their medals!!! Yay, CRUZ!!!!

After Cruz's class every week he eats his lunch. Then we sit and watch Maddox's class. Maddox gets to do his class without Mommy, because he is a "big boy".

However, on this day Maddox decided to have a major meltdown and would not come into class. He has NEVER, EVER done this before. I was beyond mad. He was crying and would not join his class. I think he was overwhelmed with the crowd and did not want to "perform". UGH!!!!! I finally talked him into it...He missed about 20 minutes of the show...but here's what we got:

We heart Little Gym...if you have one, I totally recommend it! We have already signed up for another session starting today!!

Blogger Catch-Up Week!!

I'M SO BEHIND!! I'm going to be catching up this week! I don't know why I've been such a lazy blogger! I just ordered a little device to attach to attach to my new iPad that will help me be a better blogger....I got the little attachment to allow me to download pics straight to my iPad and then I think I'll be more likely to blog! My computer has gotten so slow, I just don't use it anymore!

Anyway, my goal this week is to catch up on everything!! So here is one fun thing we did a few weekends ago!

My wonderful friend Michelle invited us to the Razorback game with her and her hubby Matt. We love hanging with them! We have known them since we moved here. She is such a fun girl! The Razorbacks won...beat Alabama....right down to the last second! Fun game!!!

So, Snow Fun

Just like the rest of the country, we had snow last week! I couldn't wait to put the boys in their snow suits and spend a day playing outside. We didn't get a ton of snow, but it was still enough to enjoy!

Maddox was ready to go! We got him dressed and he was out the door!

Cruz on the other hand, he was ticked off from the moment we put the snow suit on. I guess he didn't like being bundled up? But I thought SURELY once he realized how fun snow was, he would get over it!!

Maddox immediately plopped right down and started making a snow angel. I didn't even know he knew how to do that! Wonder where he learned that??

As I took a picture of Maddox, Cruz followed me, still ticked off.

So, we moved on. Got our sled out and headed to the hills of the golf course. Maddox couldn't WAIT to go down!!Cruz, he was miserable. He didn't want any part of the "fun".

But, being the "mean" mommy that I am, I made Cruz sled anyways. I thought he would like it, and then he would quit crying!!So I pushed them down......Maddox cheered......Cruz cried LOUDER!!!!Time to go home!! Oh well! We tried! We did gather enough snow to make some snow cream. Maddox and Cruz BOTH loved that!!

Monday Shtuff!

Is everyone staying WARM? We haven't gotten much snow in NWA yet. Maddox was less than thrilled with the dusting he saw when he woke up this morning. I, on the other hand, was excited and couldn't wait to show him. When the boys came down I brought them to the window and said "SURPRISE!", opened the blinds, and they just stood there. Maddox said ( in the most boring voice you can imagine), "that's not enough to sled in." OooooooKAY......
However, we still laid on the couch for a while and got "cozy". Look at sweet Maddox below. Yes, he asked me to pose him like that.

Speaking of the little stinker, Maddox....I think I've mentioned before that he is not a "huggy, kissy" kind of boy. I have to take the love when I can get it. (I'm not going to lie, it kinda breaks my heart sometimes....). Soooo, when I was watching TV in bed the other night and he came to me and said, "Do you love me", and I said, "YES, do you need some hugs??" He said "YES!" I jumped on the opportunity!! That boy let me rock and rock him!! We talked and talked. I don't know what came over him but I was soaking it UP!! I even called David back to take a picture because it was so stinkin sweet!! Of course, when the camera came out, Maddox acted silly, hence the blurry head!

Okay, on a totally non-kid note.....I have a GREAT new product. When I find good stuff, I just have to share:). We have a new store here called ULTA. I don't know how to explain it, but to me it's like a Sephora, Sally's, Walgreens Beauty Section, and Trade Secret all rolled into one. From low end to high end stuff. I went in the other day and spent a long time shopping for stuff I didn't know I needed. I came across this stuff:

It's Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo. You must buy it. I had heard of it before but never seen it, but when I saw it I decided to give it a try. Now, don't think I'm gross, but I don't wash my hair every day. I can't....it's thick, it's dry, colored, curly, wavy...a big ol mess...I couldn't blow dry this mop every day....much less the stress it would put on my hair.

So this stuff is a dry powder that smells amazing. It "poofs" out of the bottle in a small amount of mist, so thin you can barely see it. You apply at the roots, run a brush through,I even use the blow dryer to give a little volume, and voila...your hair looks refreshed!!! I'm serious, it is absolutely amazing how well this stuff works!!! (and no, no one asked me to say this...haha!!!) I just have to share a good product!!

Moving on, I haven't shared a good video in a while. I love the one below and have been meaning to post it. It's my sweet Cruzy! Oh, learning to share....such tough lesson....on this particular morning Cruz had gathered up all of his "choo-choo's" and would not let Maddox have one. I got my phone out to record the big fit he was throwing. I ended up catching him learning to share:). (OH, and listen to my little parrot, Maddox, in the background trying to be the boss!!! ha!!!)

And one last thing....everyone on facebook seems to be looking for Snow Cream recipes!! I have one!! I've kept it in my recipe box...I found it in the Kids Directory a few years ago! Hope this helps:

*1 Gallon of Snow

*1 cup white sugar

*1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

*2 cups milk

Directions: When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in just enough milk for the desired consistancy. Serve at once!

This is a little late, about 9 days late!! But Happy New Year!!! We changed up our normal NYE plans of going to the neighborhood club this year and headed out to dinner at Crabby's. This place has great atmosphere, food, and drinks. Perfect place for NYE!!

We sat guys on one end...girls on the other!! David is down there somewhere;).

I "stole" these pics from the other girls. Long story, and funny, but basically I lost my camera batteries at some point and couldn't take any pics:(!!!!

Looks like I decided to entertain with my awesome singing, or most likely rapping, abilities:)!!

And that was the end of the photos for me:(!! We went on to a new place in Rogers called McB's, which was tons of fun!! But like I said, my camera was out of commission, and I missed out in the rest of the picture taking. Emily(the girl next to me above with the red purse) and I sat and talked forever!! (loved getting to know you Emily!!!).

Again, Happy New Year!!! Can't wait to see what 2011 will bring!!

One wonderful new thing this year has already brought me is an iPad!!!!

David surprised me with one a few days ago, this is my first blog post using it. This thing can do so much it is a little overwhelming. I don't know where to start!! So if you have any tips or apps I must have, please leave me a comment!!!;););)

Sweet Stuff

Its no secret. I heart my babies!! Heres a few reasons why:

• Cruz tries to be sneaky, but he eventually tells on himself. Like when he ate a whole roll of pez candy. He knew it was wrong, so he came and showed me!

• Maddox rarely gives his momma hugs. He tells me boys don't do that. But today he was giving me TONS of good lovin. He said, "Sometimes God makes me love on some people."

• when Cruz is happy, he tells you. He simply says, "happy.". It's sweet.

• Maddox loves Cruz so much. He hates for him to take naps because his playmate is gone:(!

• and last, finding funny things like this in my kitchen just makes me smile:

Can you see the perfect little bite taken out of that croissant? One of the little guys opened the box, took a bite, closed it, and went on about their business! Cute.

Goodbye, 2010!

Happy New Years Eve! I love reflecting over the memories we've made. Here's a look back over 2010. 2010 had it's ups and downs, of course blogs only focus on the ups:). I'm going to put the "downs" behind me and look forward to a new year! Overall its been a great year. I am so thankful for my family and my wonderful friends.

And of course, my year wouldn't have been nearly as fun if it hadn't been for my sweet, sweet little boys! I love them to pieces!!

Now lets look back throughout the months of 2010!!

January:

Maddox loved his new toys from Santa. And it was time to pack up the "baby" toys, Cruz was starting to get too big:(.

And we officially had a walker on our hands!!

FEBRUARY:

We took a trip to Playa Del Carmen!!

And I spent nearly every day laying out here...man that was great!!

MARCH:

We got snow!! Took the boys to my parents house for some play time!!

Grandad and Cruzy! Look how clean his "bots" was then! Wow, its just filthy now!!

APRIL:

Amber invited me to Washington DC for the First Ladies Luncheon! What an experience!! I got to tour Washington and have lunch where Michelle Obama was the guest of honor!! Unforgettable!

We also went to Little Rock to my sisters Annual Crawfish Boil!! Good Times!

MAY:

Headed to Kansas City to see my bestie, Amber, compete in a fitness competition. Also had a great night out on the town!!

Also had our first weekend out on the lake...that was an unforgettable weekend...scary! It was the time the kids went out on the tube and the line snapped. Jefferson and Maddox fell out into the water. Jefferson rescued Maddox. So scary!

I didn't take many pictures after that. I was pretty shaken up! I did get this one of Saylor and Cruz:

JUNE:

Back on the lake! This time with the cousins!! With the help of Margaux and Sloan we talked Maddox into getting back on the tube!

Happy 3rd Birthday to Maddox!! We had a Pirate Party in our backyard!!

And my Dad took us all to Myrtle Beach...remember the oil spill....we didn't get to go to our regular destination, Gulf Shores. But Myrtle Beach was GREAT!!

Safe to say Santa did a great job delivering gifts this year. Maddox has played hard with everything. But his MOST favorite thing is his new Schwinn Bike!!

It's been too cold to ride outside, so my house has turned into the ultimate bike track!!

He even ate his breakfast this morning while riding his bike!!

Today's high is 67 degrees, so we will take the neighborhood by storm! Thanks, Santa!!

Cramming all of Christmas in One Post!

Whew, it's been CRAZY around the house. I haven't had time to do my Christmas blog! It's pretty safe to say that we have been beyond busy this month. Trying to do everything "Christmasy" in one month is hard!

This year Maddox begged and begged to do a Gingerbread house. Since I don't do much of anything from scratch, the Gingerbread House Kit was the way to go!

Maddox was so happy!!

Even Cruz got in on the decorating! So cute!:)

Christmas Eve night we always go to church. This year my parents stayed in town and got to go with us. The kids behavior was night and day compared to last year. Last year they were HORRIBLE in church! This year they were well behaved and oh, so cute!!!

They always to a candle light as well. I was so nervous the kids would do something crazy, but they did great! Cruz was very serious about it. Grandad helped him hold his candle.

I couldn't get a good picture of Maddox, but mom helped him with the candle, and she said he was trying to blow it out. But not in an obvious way. He was trying to do it slowly like she wouldn't notice! Too funny!!

When we got home we made sugar cookies for Santa. Cruz loved it, but I think Maddox was sick of baking with me by this point. We made so many goodies the week of Christmas that cookie decorating didn't sound like much fun to him!!

After that we opened our traditional Christmas Eve present: Christmas Jammies!! My dad gets them for our WHOLE family every year! It's been our tradition since I was a baby! Now the grandkids get them too.

Maddox was so excited to finally get to open a gift, but when he realized it was "CLOTHES!?!", he wasn't to pleased!! Haha!!

Got some funny pictures of them in their adorable personalized jammies. I think I will laugh at these pictures forever. Maddox looks like a total goof ball and Cruz was crying because he didn't want to take a picture! LOVE IT!

Cookies for Santa:

My mom making our traditional Christmas Breakfast: sausage balls! We made them the night before so we could just pop them in the oven the next morning.

After the kiddies went to bed, Santa came and left his loot. I know its different at every ones home, but at our house Santa leaves all the presents out divided up by kid. None are wrapped, they just run down the stairs and get to lay their eyes on all the new toys!

This is Cruz's side ( I forgot to upload a picture of Maddox's side, but blogger is so frustrating...I'm not going to mess with it! Sorry!)

Cruz was the first to wake up. We were all downstairs (me, David, my Mom and Dad, and my sister and brother in law). We all woke up early so we wouldn't miss the big moment. Cruz had no clue what was going on, he was scared to come down. Can you see his little head poking over?

I had to go get Cruz, and went ahead and woke Maddox up. He was a classic...ran down the stairs and immediately went for the toys! Priceless!!

After the kids play with Santa's stuff, it's time to open our gifts from one another. My sister had a GREAT idea for a joke to play on Maddox. Since he was so upset about his jammies the night before, we decided that the first present he would have to open would be clothes again! (yes, we are so mean! hahaha!!). I had bought him a Charlie Brown shirt, which I thought he would love, but the stomped away and said, "CLOTHES AGAIN???? Where are all the TOYS?!?" We were laughing SOOOOOOO hard!!

So we couldn't let the fun stop there. I had also wrapped another shirt...so when it was time for his second gift, he got MORE clothes!! He just stood there in disbelief. He threw the shirt down and we were all dying!! I mean I was crying I was laughing so hard!! Just look at that face!!

Auntie Kim couldn't take his sadness anymore, so she let him open a big gift from her. It was that big remote control Bigfoot from Target. This picture says it all!:

Then we noticed Santa at the cookies...and Rudolph at his carrot!

My mom got all the kids Pillow Pets...and every kid LOVED them! Who woulda thought!?

Cruz got a piggy bank and "monies" from Auntie Kim. This kept him busy for a while!

Such a boy....this gun shoots little suction cup darts. Only a boy would think to start shooting up his new toys! Ha!

Here is a photo of my china which I rarely use. I love it so much that I cannot stand to eat off of it! In fact, my family is paranoid to eat on it because of how crazy I am. If anyone "dings" a dish together or hits their glass on something, I about jump out of my skin!! Haha!! I love giving everyone a hard time about eating on my dishes!! I told them next year we should eat Chinese for dinner, that way everyone can use chopsticks and no one will have a knife to use on my fancy plates!!!

We all enjoyed dinner...and all eating at the table together. At one point Cruz looked up at me and said, "happy". How sweet!

Try This Wrap!

I was at my friend Crystals a few weeks ago and noticed her adorable wrapping paper! All of her presents coordinated and had cute bands around them. I asked her where she bought the bands, and when she told me her friend Sarah Lauren taught her how to make them, I decided to do the same thing to my gifts! It's super easy and adds a little something extra to your wrap!

First, buy two coordinating wraps. I did leopard and red, which i had a ton of left over from last year. I love leopard because it matches my tree!

I wrapped the first gift in leopard. Then cut a strip of red about two inches wide and wrapped it around the box. Then tied tulle around that. (I love using fluffy tool instead of traditional curling ribbon or bows. It looks so pretty!).

Then alternate colors on next box....wrapping first in red, then band in leopard, and tie with tulle!

It just makes the presents all go together so nicely! Like I said, I used this wrap last year, but my presents look MUCH cuter with the new bands!!!

Just What I Was Missing;)

After missing my boys so much on our vacation, we decided to squeeze in some "quality time" activities with them today!

First it was off to see Santa! Maddox walked right up to St. Nick and immediately began telling him what he wanted (gun and legos). Cruz was a little more hesitant. But when I explained that he better go sit in his lap if he wanted to get presents, he went right on up! Ha! There were NO tears for the FIRST time!! Maddox looks a little freaked in the picture, but that's just because he cannot seem to get his "smile" right for a picture! He was not scared at all! We ate lunch at the mall, did a little shopping, then took the boys home for naps. I left and did MORE shopping....and I think I might just about be done now!

When they woke up we loaded in the car and took the kids to their first movie experience! Yogi Bear!

Of course, they got popcorn and candy and sprite!

And this is the only picture I could clearly get with my phone. Cruz was SO good!! He sat right in my lap and ate his popcorn like he had been to the movies a million times! It was too funny!!

And just for some Holiday fun, I got some video of Maddox singing Christmas carols today!! First up is Jingle Bells! He just sings the chorus over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and...well....you can hear for yourself!

Next is "Hark the Harold". He learned this one from watching Charlie Brown. Notice he says, "Glory to the Hero King!". Then at the end he says, "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!!". Cause that's how the movie goes! Ha!

And then Cruz is rudely interrupting because he is done with his Subway sandwich;). He is yelling, "ALL DONE" then throws it at me. And in case you can't hear him, Cruz tells me Santa says, "Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas!"

Our Anniversary Trip To Vail, CO

December 20th is mine and Davids 7 year anniversary! I really can't believe how fast the time goes! We haven't done anything super special on our anniversary in a while, so we decided to take a ski trip out to Colorado. We actually lived there for the very beginning of our marriage, so it holds a special place in our hearts;).

I'm not going to lie, leaving the kids was harder than EVER. We vacation quite a bit, and half the time leave the kids at home. But this time was different. I have my house all decorated for
Christmas, we've started our advent calendar, the kids and I have been baking, ...I guess I've just REALLY been enjoying the holidays around the house. So to pack up and say goodbye - it was just hard.

BUT, we left Saturday late afternoon. We had planned on leaving last Sunday, but at the last minute changed out minds and took off not sure how far we would make it. We were almost to Wichita, KS by 9pm and needed to find a hotel. THANK GOODNESS FOR IPHONES. I got right on to Priceline, booked a 3 1/2 star room for only $64!! We stayed at the Hyatt, which , ironically, is where we got engaged! And that was totally not planned, thanks Priceline!

Anyways, we made it to Denver the next day. We stayed in the Westin which was right downtown and was SUPER nice! We met up with my friend Kelly and her hubby, Taylor that night for Mexican. It was so fun! Kelly and I met when I lived in Denver...we lived in the same apartments and both had little puppies...we've always kept in touch. It was so good to see her and meet her family! Her daughter Lia got to hang with us for a little while and she was TOO cute!

Here we are at Rio, where the margaritas are so strong they only allow you to have 3! I stopped at 2!!;) David and Taylor:

Walking back to our hotel....we took about 500 pics in front of this clock tower...we couldn't get the setting right....but we finally felt this one was the best shot!

Next morning, we drove into Vail. I woke up homesick and missing my boys. I even cried a little bit. Crazy. I know. I always feel like I want a break, then I get one and I want to go straight back home! Poor David...he didn't know what to do with me!;)

Then we checked into our hotel...well, um,...what should I call that place....hotel may be too nice of a word. It was a great location...right at the bottom of the mountain, we walked to the lifts! Wonderful! But the room...ICK! I had gotten spoiled rotten with the Hyatt and the Westin. This place was for true ski bums. Ones that didn't care where they slept, just cared about skiing. I'm a little more high maintenance than that! Sorry Dave! He didn't know!

But Vail was beautiful! We had passes to ski for 3 days. The first day was a little shaky! It had been a long time since I skied!

Truth be told, the second day I didn't really want to ski again. (What is WRONG with me???) I just wasn't feeling it! I did a few runs, then parked myself at the top of the mountain in a restaurant with a coffee and let David go have fun on his own!

That night we walked around Vail, which is just the neatest town. I felt like I was in another country! We ate at a place called Pepi's, which was, like, Swiss food or something. I don't know. But the waiters were dressed up in costumes and "wiener schnitzel" was on the menu.

Day 3: David left me in bed to hit the mountain. It was snowing HARD! I just wanted to curl up and relax (well sort of, as much as you can get cozy and relax when you are trying to not let the bed comforter touch any part of your body because it looks like it is from 1962).

So we decided to meet at lunch. He had a GREAT morning...all by himself! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! Hahaha!!! I got dressed and went up the mountain with him to do a little more skiing. I didn't want to , but it was our last day.

I have to say....does it get much cooler than this?? I mean, the views were amazing! Here I am!

But here is where I'd rather be....sitting by a warmer with a warm drink watching the other people ski! Haha! I used to love it, but something changed, I just don't love it anymore. ;(

So, I do have to give David some MAJOR props for taking me on an amazing date while we were there! This was BY FAR my favorite part of Vail. He didn't tell me where we were eating, just to dress nice. Hmmmmm...

So we walk down to the Gondola, after the mountain has closed down, and they hand us big cozy blankets. The guy just instructs us to ride the Gondola up the mountain and find a girl named Hiedi.

Once at the top we waited in this little room. There were other people there at this point going to the same restaurant, but I still had not clue where it was! Then we all had to load onto a snow cat (which is basically a tractor on the mountain, but thankfully heated) and took a winding, steep drive to our destination.

Once we got there it was so beautiful. It was called the Game Creek Club. I couldn't tell you where in the world on the mountain we were. It was so secluded! And they knew it was our anniversary, so they had champagne waiting on us! Perfect!

I wanted to take a million pics, but this place was so super nice, I just felt a "flash" would be tacky, so excuse our dark pics!

I'm so happy!!!!!

Our food was unpronounceable, tiny portioned, but super good!

And look at our adorable dessert they brought us!

After dinner we sat by this fire and exchanged gifts. It was pretty neat.

Here is a picture of the snow cat we rode back to the Gondola on. You should have seen the sharp edges and cliffs that thing took us on!!! Crazy!!! But so memorable!

And bundled up on the Gondola ride back down the mountain. I took this picture 6 times. Each time David closed his eyes. I was getting frustrated.

So I finally got this: Hahahaha!!!

SO WHERE WERE MY KIDS???

Davids mother, Sandy, kept them the entire week for us. She did a great job. Let me tell you, they did not just sit around the house. She packed them up everyday and took them somewhere fun! They loved it! They even made crafts, which I thought was adorable!

I am so happy to be back home and in my Christmas "groove"! I have gotten more hugs and kisses from Maddox and Cruz than I know what to do with! Life is good!

This week at The Little Gym was our last week before Christmas. We are missing next week so I went ahead and took our little teacher gifts to the boys' three teachers.

It was a card with a Starbucks gift card in it. Maddox and Cruz both really love their teachers!

Maddox took his first card to mr. Stephen. No big deal. Cruz took a card to miss Lyssa. Fine. Then I asked Maddox to take the last card to Miss Ashley. (she is blonde and cute as a button!!). Maddox delivered the card then RAN back to me and buried his head in my lap.

"why are you being shy??" I asked.

He wouldnt even look up at me!! She opened the card and said thanks and Maddox curled into a little ball like he was mortified!

Then it dawned on me.... His first little crush!;). Too cute!! When she walked away he reassured me that he didn't like girls;). Haha!!! Too late!;)

My Mornings

Reading my blog you've probably learned lots of things about me, but one thing I never talk about is where I spend my mornings. Most mornings I get up and head to the gym and work out with a great group of women at bootcamp. Bruce, our trainer, does a great job of working us out.... And we do a great job of complaining the whole time;)!! It makes it a little more fun!

This morning we surprised Bruce with a Christmas gift basket and we all had matching shirts made that said " Bruces Bad Ass Boot Camp". Cause we're cool like that;)!

Cruz's Second Birthday!

Well, first let's state the obvious....I'M SO, SO, SO BEHIND ON BLOGGING! Lots to catch you up on. But first......

Last weekend we celebrated Cruz's Second Birthday at The Little Gym. Cruz and Maddox have been taking classes there for the past 6 months and they LOVE that place!! It was a no brainer when it came time to decide what to do for Cruz's birthday! I still incorporated a "Monkeying Around" theme. I got his cake from Shelby Lynn's Cake Shoppe in Springdale. I adore it! I told her, "match the invites colors, I want monkeys doing gymnastics, and a big two on the top!".....

The kids had so much fun playing on all the equipment!

TWO YEARS AGO......

ONE YEAR AGO........ NOW MY BABY IS TWO!!!!!

I love you, Cruz!!! I'm sitting here waiting for you to wake up so I can give you your first present! "My First Trampoline"!!! You are going to love it! Tonight we are taking you to Chuck E. Cheese's ( you don't even know yet), and this weekend is your party at Little Gym. Mommy loves you to pieces. Even when you are a little "toot", I can't help but think of how cute you are! Thanksgiving With My Mimi

My mom and I took the boys to have thanksgiving lunch with my Mimi who has althzimers and lives in a nursing home yesterday. You never know what to expect from little kids, but the boys did great.

They took Mimi pictures they had made and talked to her. It was really cute. She just smiled and watched them the whole lunch. I'm sure she probably didn't really know who they were, but she obviously still enjoyed the company;).

Here are the boys helping wheel her back to her room after our lunch;).

I couldn't get Mimi to look at the camera, she was just talking and talking to Cruz;).

I'm just doing a quick post to sum up the rest of our trip....I have a million photos...but I'm quickly sorting through and posting a few. Its almost Thanksgiving and I've got to catch up before these Holidays do!:)

We stayed busy on our trip! Never a dull moment. Our first day there we loaded up and took the kids to the childrens museum...it was a BLAST!

I loved this picture below. Mostly becuase of what Cruz was doing. You see, he has a bit of what we call "little man syndrome". He's almost 2, and in the 6% for size...so it's fair to say he's a lil guy. But he is also a scrapper and not scared to boss kids around.

In this picture he is sitting in a dinosaur footprint. He has been sitting in it forever. He would not let anyone else get in it. Even these older girls who he didn't even know!! He was being so bossy!! "NO, NO, NO" he would say!! He is so fiesty!

But he stilll knows how to treat a lady:).

At night Maddox and Jefferson would play football for hours!!

Saturday morning we got to go cheer on Jefferson at his little league game! He won!!

Thanks, Hutchinson for a great time!! We love y'all!!!

ICE at Gaylord Texan

This weekend we went to Texas to visit my best friend, Amber, and her family. It was seriously like a mini vacation!! We did so much fun stuff and stayed busy the whole time! I took so many pictures that I'm going to have to break this up into several blogs!!

Yesterday before we drove home we went to the ICE show at the Gaylord Texan. The Gaylord is a huge resort and each Christmas they choose a theme and carve huge ice sculptures and slides to walk through and see. This years theme couldn't have been more perfect. It was Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown. This happens to be Maddox's FAVORITE movie to watch. Well, he loves ANYTHING Charlie Brown! So we couldn't wait to take him!

Here are my boys all bundled up and ready to go! It was in the 60's in Texas, but we heard when you get to the actual ice exhibit it would be 9 degrees in the rooms!!! Brrrr!! Walking in to the Gaylord Resort. It was already decked out for Christmas!

Once we got there they handed out HUGE blue parkas to everyone to wear on top of what you already had. It seemed a little much at first. In fact, we were sweating to death. But they insisted we wear them AND button them up!!

Here we are, in our goofy parkas. Check out rear end!! Hahaha!!! NO, its not that big!! I had my purse and camera under there!! But this picture cracked me up!!

Walking in....everything you see from here on out is ICE!!! Colored ice!! And it was FREEEEEZING!!!!!!

All sculptures were actual scenes from the movie. As you went from room to room it was like watching the movie. It was so neat!!!

Amber and I couldn't resist it either!! It was so fast!!!

I had to have Cruz pose by Linus. Cruz reminds me of Linus, he looks like him, sucks his fingers like him, and has a blankie like him. And as soon as we put him next to him Cruz reached out for Linus' blankey...TOO CUTE!!
